It is with great sorrow and great joy that we note the passing of our long time friend Tom White, Executive Director of Voice of the Martyrs.
Great sorrow because, for those of us still on Earth, Tom’s passing leaves a great void. He was an incredible man of God whose footsteps for Christ and on behalf of the Persecuted Church literally spanned the globe.
Great joy because as Christians we know his death was not a death at all but in fact a birthday into the Heavenly Kingdom of our Lord Jesus Christ. As is the hope of all believers who seek to serve Christ with their whole lives, Tom heard those most sweet of all words “Well done My good and faithful servant”.
Tom White lived a life of service that reads like a tale found back in the days of the early Church. Imprisoned and tortured as a young missionary in Cuba who, once released, went on to join with the legendary pillar of faith Richard Wurmbrand to spend a life in service to those who were suffering persecution for the Gospel of Jesus Christ across the globe.
Tom’s desire to commemorate the sacrifice and legacy of those who died because of their testimony of Christ led to the commission of Ron DiCianni’s Safely Home, which has been used for decades as a powerful tool to remember the hope that is the victorious side of a Martyr’s death.
Our prayers are with the entire VOM team, Tom’s wife Ofelia and all of those in the Persecuted Church.
For more information on Tom’s incredible legacy of service we encourage you to visit Voice of the Martyrs' website: www.Persecution.com.
