What a Blessing! Our Resurrection Mural Open House

Well I am still reeling from what happened this weekend as I type this so maybe this is the best first entry for our blog.

I have no idea if you are familiar with our company, artists or mission but let me tell you what and incredible and mighty God we serve.

This Saturday we held and Open House for the purpose of unveiling a mural to some local churches. At least that’s what the original plan was a few weeks ago when the idea was first brought up. But God, as He so incredibly does, had other plans. And kicked the doors off of ours. (I love when He does that!).

Let me tell you a bit of what we were unveiling before I go any further. Ron DiCianni, our signature Artist and one of the top Christian Artists there is, painted a mural for a museum in Dallas. Many of you, even if you might not know his name, know his work. His paintings comprise some of the best and most powerful proclamations of Gospel there is. So much so that even secular Art critics consider his work to be the best of the best. Click through our site. I can almost guarantee you’ve seen one if not several of his paintings. A lot of folks after visiting our site tell me they’ve owned his work for years without realizing he was the artist (I guess we need to do a better job of marketing☺). In any event, he was commissioned to paint the centerpiece (in art parlance it’s called a “pilgrimage piece”) for this new museum. The net result was a 12 foot by 40 foot mural depicting the Resurrection of Jesus Christ. And although this was not a goal at the outset, in doing so Ron painting the largest depiction of Christ’s Resurrection in the world. It’s this incredibly powerful presentation of the Resurrection with a really unique and amazing twist.

So, that’s what we had panned to debut just for some of the local churches as a ramp up to Easter. As I mentioned before, God had other, much more incredible, plans. As more and more churches started asking if they could be involved, one of them said “let’s hire you guys an event planner and bring water”. Another took it on themselves to announce it to the 50 biggest churches in the area. Another decided to invite all the local CEO and executives. We sent out a Press Release and before we knew it we were on the cover of 2 of the3 regional papers. Then the radio stations got on board. Then people started asking if they could bring friends, Youth Groups, even the military came. As if that wasn’t enough, C28 and Chick-fil-a came on board.

It went on an on like this by God’s divine hand right up until the event (24 hours before hand a major ministry called and said it was brining a team of volunteers…would that we ok?) Uhhhh… YES!

The net result, by the unmistakable grace of God over 1500 people showed up during the course of our 6 hour Open House. Most walked out in tears. And the amazing part is they thanked us like we were the ones that put this production on. Nope… it was all God.

Then, they started bring their friends back. Who then brought their friends back. Some people came 3-4 times with groups of friends. 1500 is the conservative estimate. I was there and I’d say closer to 2000. Not including the 50+ incredible volunteers which showed up from a local church to help.

I think my favorite story was all the people that “just happened” to hear about it that Morning and decided to drive down from Long Beach and LA area. Here’s a great one. One gentleman was a salesman who was in the area for a week, scheduled to return home on Friday. When he heard about The Resurrection Mural he canceled his trip home to stay and extra day. People canceled their sons’ going away parties to be at the event. Only God does things like that.

And, as God so perfectly does when He sovereignly moves, all went without a hitch. Even with all those people not one issue. No issues with the city. No parking issues. No fender benders. No emergencies. God’s divine hand of blessing and protection was so obvious. And for me, usually I am running around like headless chicken within 30 mins. I actually got to sit down. The first people showed up 5 mins before the door opened. The last people 5 mins before the door closed.

My friends, God is good. Not because He blessed us with an Open House or a mural. But because He sent His Son, to die on a cross, rise from the grave and triumph over both.

May you rejoice with us this Easter in a Risen Savior & Lord. Jesus Christ. Welcome to our blog.

I just watched the video of Ron DiCianni's explanation of the mural (forwarded to me by a friend). It gave me goosebumps. God is incredible, and He has called Ron to a unique purpose with his incredible talent. PLEASE tell me that re-prints will be available so we can have this incredible, life-changing mural in my home. Blessings as you continue to serve the Lord with gladness.
