SYNOPSIS:

There have been many men of great faith throughout history, one of those being George Mueller. He was a man of prayer whose faith allowed God to pour out His blessings in ways that we rarely see today. Mueller’s life is an example to all that faith is a vehicle for God to get us positioned to do His will. In George Mueller, DiCianni captures a moment of prayer and reverence showing that George Mueller was a bold soul who ventured to try things God’s way and in doing so left huge footprints for us to follow.

ARTIST NOTE:

Countless times I have asked myself what George Mueller possessed that enabled him to have favor in God’s eyes when it came to answered prayer. This painting is of a famous scene in which Mr. Mueller, on his way to America via ocean liner, was met by an impenetrable fog that forced the captain to stop the vessel. Mr. Mueller, against the advice of the captain, went to the chartroom of the ship and asked God to lift the fog. The captain asked to pray along with Mueller, and Mr. Mueller informed him that there was no need on the account that it was already done. It was and the captain was converted on the spot!

The conclusion I have come to that caused Mr. Mueller’s “direct line” to God is “spiritual abandonment.” By that I mean people like Mr. Mueller did not ask God for anything that they did not already know to be God’s will. They didn’t have a will. They only had a desire to fulfill God’s will. So God, in turn, was delighted to grant their requests (Psalm 37:4).
