SYNOPSIS:

Holding Heaven depicts the moments of wonder and awe Joseph might have felt as he held his newborn son – the son of God who was born for a purpose much different than what the Israelites thought. As Joseph gazes at the infant, the questions of “What will you do?” and “How will you save the world?” must have been intermingling with all kinds of hopes for Israel’s salvation. This captivating image is the theme painting for the unrivaled new work by Jerry Jenkins and Ron DiCianni entitled, Holding Heaven: A Novella.

ARTIST NOTE:

If I let my imagination run wild, I could imagine many scenarios of history that would fascinate and thrill me beyond words. Probably none though would compare with what happened to Joseph, the earthly father of Jesus.

How does one hold Heaven in their hands and not quake? Joseph looked into the eyes of eternity every night of his life. The stars must have been anticlimactic and the smell of a rose humdrum after holding the One who made them in his arms. Imagine a kiss on His soft little cheeks or a squeeze from His tiny fingers knowing they flung the universe into existence. Yet the future would unfold in way much different than Joseph thought. Israel’s conquering King would overcome by his Blood and not by earthly power.
