In the Fire

In the Fire

SYNOPSIS:

When three Israelites were thrown into a fiery furnace, the intent was for them to die painfully and cruelly. But what looked, in human terms, like certain death was really a chance for Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego to show their faith and for God to show His power. By showing the three Old Testament figures in modern clothing, DiCianni reminds us that life or events may see us thrown into the fire but one thing we know from Scripture is that circumstances in life are never beyond God’s control. God’s protection doesn’t always prevent us from going through the fires of life, but you can be certain that every event in life represents an opportunity to demonstrate our faith and invite God to show His incredible power.

ARTIST NOTE:

You will notice in the painting that the three in the fire are modern day guys. They are different ages, races and sizes, but they are entitled to the protection of the “fourth man” in the fire because the promise is to all. Look for yourself in Isaiah 43: 2. Why? Look at verse 4.

“Because you are precious to me, because I give you honor and love you....”

What confidence that ought to generate in us!
