“…I will refine them like silver and test them like gold. They will call on my name and I will answer them; I will say, ‘They are my people,’ and they will say ‘The Lord is our God.’” Zechariah 13:9
In The Refiner’s Fire, Ron DiCianni masterfully uses the furnace and the anvil to represent God’s tools to refine man. Though the process is often painful, God uses situations and circumstances to mold man into His image. Knowing that God is gentle and kind makes the furnace bearable, because with the fire and the anvil comes the grace He supplies to get through it to come out as gold. What a wonderful reminder that The Refiner’s Fire gives us during the trials in our lives – not only does God have to mold us into a tool fit for His use, but from time to time He has to pound out the bends that comes from years of use!
