When Jesus left the earth, He said He would send a helper – the Holy Spirit. Although often misunderstood, the Holy Spirit, as part of the Trinity, is given to empower us to be witnesses for Christ here on Earth. It is debated whether the Baptism of the Holy Spirit is available to us today as it was 2,000 years ago. The painting, Baptism in the Holy Spirit by Ron DiCianni, clearly answers that question by showing the anointing of the Holy Spirit carried across the ages and cultures to rest on a man that could be our neighbor, pastor, friend or someone in a distant land. Just as God is the same yesterday, today and forever, the Baptism of the Holy Spirit is just as alive and available to us as on the day of Pentecost. The Spirit is given to us to empower those who believe in Christ so that we may boldly live for Christ and be the witnesses He has called us to be. Baptism in the Holy Spirit reminds us that what was recorded in the Bible is ours today if we will just step out in faith and in God’s leading.
Baptism in The Holy Spirit is one of the four paintings included in the We Believe campaign.
